York Motor Club was founded in 1913, when a group of motor cycle and car enthusiasts,
known as "Eboracum" Motor Club went their separate ways. The motor car enthusiasts
formed York Motor Club.
York Motor Club evolved into what was one of the most popular motorsports clubs, and in
its hayday hosted highly respected championship events, such as the YORK NATIONAL RALLY.
Today, many club members are actively involved in motorsports competition, covering
disciplines such as Touring Cars, Road and Stage Ralling, Autotesting, Production Car
Trials, and Sprint and Circuit Racing.
York Motor Club also provides Marshals, Safety Personnel and Officials to many Motorsports
events, and encourages training programmes for such people.
We also like to put on a varied Social Calendar for members, including video evenings,
guest talks, training courses, navigational rallies, games nights, social outings, motorsport
trips and quiz nights.
To find out more about us, please contact any committee member, or even better,
come and see us for a friendly chat. York Motor Club meets every Wednesday at
9.00 p.m. at The Nags Head, Askham Bryan, York
